Greg and Sallie posting from Iowa. We also enjoy variety in our weather. Iowa weather is often upside down...snowing when it is 40 degrees and raining when it is 20 degrees and of course the ever popular thundersnow!
It hasn't been a good couple of months here. Sallie tore her Achilles tendon and had to have surgery November 21st to reattach it. She has been unable to walk for the last 5 weeks so no fun vacations for us.
Greg is off work this week as his company decided to close for the year-end holidays. We've been taking advantage of both of us being home and excavating ancient boxes of stuff from the dusty corners of the house. We have managed to get rid of a couple dozen boxes of junk!
We are expecting to spend a quiet Christmas at home. Sam missed Thanksgiving this year and is not planning to come home over winter break. He got a job in Iowa City play testing video games and is taking advantage of not having classes to rack up some extra time. Heather Kris and the kids are making the rounds of Kris' family so we aren't sure when we'll see them next.
Greg did get a chance to put his talents to work this fall. He made the dragon for the Des Moines Playhouse's production of The Hobbit. It was really very cool. We'll try and upload the picture.
Hope everyone has a safe and Happy Christmas!
Nice job, Greg! Sweet looking dragon!
ReplyDeleteWe Agree! That is truly an awesome dragon! Ever thought of making a living out of doing this stuff? We hope you are up on your feet soon Sallie! And we can really identify with the excavation process! We still need to do a lot more! Love and Hugs, The Harms
